Alright, once again we list something that (at this time) has nothing to do with Zune (It perhaps may one day, however) but rather your cellphone. It’s ToneShop from our friend Darren Yates over at Techlogg.com. ToneShop allows you to create ringtones from your favorite .wav, .wma or MP3 file. Here’s a snippet from the site:
“Rather than looking at a bunch of squiggles on a screen, ToneShop let’s you choose your ringtone by simply listening to your favourite tracks.
Just like our other tools, ToneShop is designed to be useful and easy to use – all you do is select the file format you want your ringtone to be in, then load in any WAV, WMA or MP3 audio track and choose a filename and save location.
Next comes the fun part – press the Play button, turn up the volume and enjoy your chosen track. When you think you’ve heard the point where you want your ringtone to start, hit the Start button.
When you’ve reached the end of the musical section that will make up your ringtone, hit the Finish button. Now all you need to do is press the Convert button and within a few seconds, your ringtone file will be created.”
Sounds pretty cool, huh? We thought so too and we gave it a try, we thought the file size was a little large at 11.1MB but hey, it’s free, right? [More after the jump]

Installation was fast and easy and within a few seconds we we’re running the software. [More after the jump]

As you can see the controls are pretty basic and simple but that’s not a drawback to us, I mean how much control does one need over a basic ringtone? In reality this is probably one of the better interfaces we’ve seen for this type of software, and did we mention it’s completely free?
Okay, back to our analysis. I love the Foo Fighters and wanted a ringtone of “Best of You”, so I loaded it (it took about 5 seconds to load), once loaded I pressed “Play” and once it was at the point where I wanted my ringtone to start I pressed “Start”, once it got to the point I wanted it to end I pressed “Finish”. This was all very simple (even a Caveman could do it), easy and fast.
Now we just have to select where we’re going to save it to and name it, then press “Convert”, the conversion took less than five seconds and voila, we have our Foo Fighters ringtone. [ more after the jump]

The ringtone quality itself is not bad at all and we love the price (Free), that’s as much as we’re going to pay for our ringtone’s from now on.
Here’s the link to their site (we would link directly but Darren prefers it if we link to his page) : ToneShop.
If you want to get the download look near the top on the right side of the page under “Pages” and there’s a direct link that’s says “Download ToneShop”.
Be cool me Babies…
