This is a feature new for the 2.5 update, it allows Zuneys to use the devices WiFi capabilities to wirelessly send video Zunecasts to another Zune, the receiving Zune user can then watch the Zunecast and simultaneously subscribe to it.

This information comes to us via Mobilecasternews.com and more specifically Rob Greenlee who writes:

While the video podcast episode is playing - just click and hold the middle of the Zune touch pad until the subscribe screen pops up. Then click on “subscribe” and when you next sync your Zune it will add a new subscription to your “Collection” area.

Rob also calls this feature “REVOLUTIONARY” and notes that this is not a feature you will find in any iPod device. So, this is just another reason why I like being a little different and why I own two Zunes myself. No one can ever refer to me as a clone like them Apple fanboys!

Thanks Rob for sharing this, although we’ve been using the Zune Software every since it was first released, this is a feature that had not come to our attention until you pointed it out.
